Israelis Stranded as Mauritius Denies Landing to Flight from Tel Aviv

Dozens of Israeli travelers hoping for a vacation in Mauritius were left stranded today after their flight was canceled when Air Seychelles was denied permission to land by local authorities. The flight, originating from Tel Aviv, was organized by Spirit Productions World, which had arranged the travel packages.

Spirit Productions stated that attempts to secure the necessary landing permits overnight were unsuccessful, despite claims that the approvals had been processed months in advance. The company expressed concern that the denial might be linked to Mauritius's political stance towards Israel and recent developments at the United Nations. However, no official statement from the Mauritian government has confirmed this as the reason, leaving the political motivation unconfirmed.

It was emphasized that this refusal does not constitute a general ban on Air Seychelles operations in Mauritius. The airline's flight schedule shows regular flights between Mauritius and Seychelles on the same day. The denial specifically pertains to the flight originating from Israel.

This incident follows the recent resumption of direct flights between Seychelles and Tel Aviv by Air Seychelles, with flights operating throughout September. The airline continues to market future flights between Seychelles and Israel. Spirit Productions is currently working with Air Seychelles and relevant parties to assist the affected passengers and provide information on further arrangements.
