Air Seychelles Cancels Israel Flight to Mauritius Amid Landing Permit Dispute
Air Seychelles has canceled a flight from Israel to Mauritius after Mauritian authorities refused to grant the aircraft a landing permit. The flight, organized by the travel company Spirit Productions Worldwide, was scheduled to depart on Saturday, September 26. Spirit Productions Worldwide stated that the information they received suggests the decision may have been based on "political and state considerations."
Attempts were made overnight to resolve the issue and secure the necessary landing permission in the Indian Ocean island nation. However, these efforts were unsuccessful, leading Air Seychelles to announce the flight's cancellation. The travel company emphasized that all required permits for the flight had been obtained several months prior.
Tali Yativ, CEO and owner of Spirit Productions Worldwide, expressed her disappointment. "We regret and are disappointed by the decision not to allow the landing of a flight from Israel in Mauritius. It is particularly regrettable if such a decision was indeed made for political reasons, as it directly harms Israeli passengers who have no connection to such decisions," she stated.
