Air Seychelles Cancels Flights to Mauritius Amidst Israeli Passenger Ban

Air Seychelles has announced the cancellation of its flights from Tel Aviv to Mauritius, citing a refusal by Mauritian authorities to allow aircraft originating from Israel to land. The decision has caused significant disruption for Israeli travelers who had planned their vacations.

Representatives from the Israeli travel company "Spirit Productions World" expressed concern that the ban is politically motivated, potentially linked to the current geopolitical situation and ongoing disputes. "From the information at our disposal and the circumstances that have arisen, there is a concern that the decision not to approve the flight is related to Mauritius's current stance towards the arrival of Israelis in the country, against the backdrop of the situation and the political controversy," they stated.

Tal Yitiv, CEO and owner of Spirit Productions World, lamented the potential political reasoning behind the decision, emphasizing that it directly harms Israeli passengers who have no connection to such matters. She confirmed that the company made every effort until the last moment to ensure the flight's departure.

This cancellation comes as a disappointment, especially after Air Seychelles had officially announced its return to Israel and the resumption of flights in June, aiming to provide convenient access for Israelis to the islands. Flights from Tel Aviv to Mahé, the main island of Seychelles, had been operating since August.
