Mauritius Denies Landing to Israeli Flight Amid Political Concerns

Mauritian authorities refused to grant landing permission to an Air Seychelles flight scheduled to depart from Israel on Saturday, leading to the flight's cancellation. Spirit Productions, the company organizing the trip, stated that despite efforts to secure approval overnight, the decision was based on political considerations. Air Seychelles subsequently announced the flight's cancellation.

"We receive with sorrow and disappointment the decision not to approve the landing of the flight from Israel in Mauritius," said Tali Yetiv, CEO and owner of Spirit Productions. "We are particularly sorry if such a decision is indeed made for political reasons, directly harming Israeli passengers who have no connection to these decisions. We did everything in our power until the last moment for the flight to depart as planned, and we continue to work with all relevant parties to assist the passengers and handle them personally, and with Air Seychelles to obtain all the necessary information for further treatment."

This incident follows a similar move by the Maldives, whose government announced that Israeli passport holders would be barred from entering the country due to the ongoing war in Gaza.
