Air Seychelles Cancels Flights to Israel Amid Landing Permit Refusal

Air Seychelles has informed its customers in Israel that authorities in the island nation are refusing to accept aircraft arriving from Tel Aviv, according to Spirit World Productions.

Despite extensive efforts to secure the necessary permits, the airline has been denied landing approval, leading to the cancellation of the flight. Spirit World Productions expressed concern that the decision might be linked to Mauritius's current stance on the arrival of Israelis, given the ongoing political situation and disputes. The company described the decision as painful and disappointing, sharing in the frustration of passengers who had to cancel their travel plans after months of anticipation.

Spirit World Productions is working with Air Seychelles and relevant authorities to gather information for customer support and has pledged to contact affected passengers personally. Tali Yetiv, CEO of Spirit World Productions, stated her regret if political considerations influenced the decision, directly impacting Israeli travelers who are unconnected to such matters. She emphasized that the company did everything possible until the last moment to ensure the flight's departure.

Air Seychelles had announced its return to Israel and the resumption of flights in June, aiming to provide Israelis with convenient access to the islands. Flights from Tel Aviv to Mahé, the main island of Seychelles, had been operating since August.
