Mauritius Denies Landing to Israeli Flights Amid Political Concerns

A flight operated by Air Seychelles, scheduled to depart from Israel for Mauritius on Saturday, was canceled after Mauritian authorities refused to grant landing permission. Spirit Productions, the company organizing the trip, stated that despite efforts to secure approval, the decision stemmed from political considerations. This follows a similar move by the Maldives, which recently announced that Israeli passport holders would be barred from entering the country due to the ongoing war in Gaza.

Tali Yetiv, CEO of Spirit Productions, expressed disappointment and regret over the decision, particularly if it was politically motivated and negatively impacted Israeli travelers. She emphasized that the passengers had no connection to the political situation. Spirit Productions stated they worked until the last moment to ensure the flight's departure and are now focused on assisting affected passengers and gathering information from Air Seychelles for further handling.

The cancellation highlights growing diplomatic challenges for Israel, with at least two island nations citing the conflict in Gaza as a reason for restricting entry to Israeli citizens.
