Mauritius Denies Landing to Israeli Flight, Causing Cancellation

Air Seychelles informed its customers in Israel on Saturday that the island nation of Mauritius is refusing to accept aircraft arriving from Tel Aviv. Representatives from "Spirit World Productions" stated that despite extensive efforts to secure necessary permits, authorities did not grant landing approval, leading to the flight's cancellation.

According to Spirit World Productions, "Based on the information available to us and the circumstances that have arisen, there is concern that the decision not to approve the flight is related to Mauritius' current stance on the arrival of Israelis to the country, in light of the situation and the political dispute." The company expressed that the decision is painful and disappointing, sharing in the distress of passengers who had to cancel their trips after months of planning and anticipation.

The company is working with Air Seychelles and relevant parties to obtain the necessary information for customer support and has promised to contact affected passengers personally. Tali Yetiv, CEO and owner of Spirit World Productions, stated, "We are particularly sorry if such a decision is indeed made for political reasons, directly harming Israeli passengers who have no connection to these decisions. We did everything in our power until the last moment for the flight to depart as scheduled."

Air Seychelles had announced in June its return to Israel, resuming flights to provide Israelis with convenient access to the islands. Flights from Tel Aviv to Mahé, the main island of Seychelles, have been operating since August.
