Mauritius Denies Landing to Israeli Flights, Citing Political Concerns

Air Seychelles has canceled a planned flight from Tel Aviv to Mauritius after Mauritian authorities refused to grant landing permission to planes originating from Israel. The decision has caused significant disappointment among Israeli travelers who had booked the trip.

Representatives from the Israeli travel company "Spirit Productions World" expressed concern that the denial is linked to Mauritius's current stance on the arrival of Israelis, potentially influenced by regional political situations and disputes. They noted that despite extensive efforts to secure the necessary approvals, the Mauritian government did not authorize the landing.

Sources close to the decision suggested the event might also be connected to the departure of a delegation during Prime Minister Netanyahu's speech at the United Nations. The travel company stated that the decision is particularly disheartening for passengers who had planned their vacations for months, especially after experiencing recent uncertainty.

Spirit Productions World is working with Air Seychelles and relevant authorities to gather information and assist affected customers, promising to contact them personally. The company's CEO, Tali Yetiv, lamented that if the decision is indeed politically motivated, it unfairly penalizes Israeli travelers unrelated to such political considerations. Air Seychelles had only recently announced its return to Israel in June, aiming to provide convenient access for Israelis to the islands, with flights to Mahé Island commencing in August.
