Three Negev Youths Drown Off Ashkelon Coast; One Dies, Two Rescued
Three Arab youths from the Negev region drowned off the coast of Ashkelon on Friday evening. One of the youths, 17-year-old Imad Al-Kharabsha from the outskirts of Kseifeh in the Negev, died in the incident. The other two, aged 17 and 24, were rescued. One of the survivors was unconscious and in serious condition, while the other had minor injuries. Both were transported to Barzilai Medical Center for treatment.
Search and rescue teams, including divers and volunteers, initiated a search for the third missing youth. His body was recovered Saturday morning.
An emergency medical technician described arriving at the difficult-to-access location and finding one of the rescued youths unconscious on the shore. He administered initial treatment before transporting the patient along with the second survivor, who had minor injuries, to the hospital in a critical care ambulance. Medical teams were informed of a missing person in the water and prepared to provide further aid as needed.
