Teen Drowns in Ashkelon; Two Others Rescued from Sea
A 17-year-old boy who went missing after drowning at a beach in Ashkelon was found dead Saturday morning, Magen David Adom (MDA) reported. Search teams had been looking for him since Friday evening. Two other men who were swimming with the teenager were rescued from the sea; one of them is in serious condition.
MDA received the initial report of the drowning at 6:34 PM on Friday. Responding MDA teams provided medical treatment to a 24-year-old man in serious condition and the 17-year-old in mild condition. The search for the third individual continued overnight.
"We arrived at the scene with a 4x4 ambulance specialized for difficult-to-reach locations," said MDA paramedic Yaron Kapach. "We saw a 24-year-old man who had been pulled from the water lying near the water's edge unconscious. We provided him with medical treatment, including assisted ventilation, and evacuated him via an MDA intensive care unit. We also evacuated a 17-year-old in mild condition. They told us there was another missing person in the water, and MDA teams were ready to provide medical treatment and assistance if needed."
