Search Underway for Missing Swimmer Off Ashkelon Beach After Two Rescued

Emergency services are continuing their search for a missing individual off Delilah Beach in Ashkelon, southern Israel, after three people were reported to have drowned Friday evening. Two individuals were successfully rescued from the water: a 24-year-old man in serious condition and a 17-year-old in mild condition.

Magen David Adom (MDA) paramedics who arrived at the scene provided initial treatment and transported the two rescued individuals to Barzilai Hospital. The 24-year-old was unconscious and received resuscitation assistance before being evacuated by a mobile intensive care unit. The 17-year-old was also taken for medical evaluation.

MDA emergency medical technician Yaron Kapach described the scene, stating, "We arrived at the location with a 4x4 ambulance specialized for difficult-to-access areas. We saw a 24-year-old youth who had been pulled from the water lying near the water's edge, unconscious. We provided him with medical treatment, including assistance with ventilation, and evacuated him in an MDA intensive care unit. We also evacuated a 17-year-old youth in mild condition. We were told there is another missing person in the water, and MDA teams are prepared to provide medical treatment and assistance as needed."

Search efforts for the third individual are ongoing, with rescue teams actively scouring the area. The circumstances leading to the drowning incident are currently under investigation.
