Teen Dies After Drowning Incident Off Ashkelon Beach

A 17-year-old boy who went missing after a drowning incident at a beach in Ashkelon on Friday has been found dead, the Magen David Adom (MDA) emergency service announced Saturday morning. Search teams had been looking for him since Friday evening. Three men entered the water together, and all three drowned. The 17-year-old was located deceased on Saturday morning. Two other men who were swimming with the teenager were rescued from the sea; one of them is in serious condition.

MDA received the initial report of the drowning at 6:34 PM on Friday. Responding MDA teams provided medical treatment to a 24-year-old man in serious condition and the 17-year-old in mild condition. "We arrived at the scene with a 4x4 ambulance specialized for difficult-to-reach locations," said MDA paramedic Yaron Kofah. "We saw a 24-year-old man who had been pulled from the water lying near the water's edge unconscious. We provided him with medical treatment, including assistance with ventilation, and evacuated him via an MDA intensive care unit. We also evacuated a 17-year-old in mild condition. We were told there was another missing person in the water, and MDA teams were prepared to provide medical treatment and assistance if needed."
