Maccabi Tel Aviv expects to know soon whether the long-running Dor Peretz saga will be resolved, and hopes to see the captain at the team’s first training session on Tuesday. The talks between the club and Peretz are still ongoing, and Sport5 reports new details about the offer on the table for the midfielder, who was last season’s league top scorer.
According to the report, the proposed deal would run for three years with an option for an extension. One clause ties part of Peretz’s salary to the number of matches he plays each season, so if he reaches the required threshold, he would make up much of the drop from his base wage. The contract also includes additional bonuses that could lift his annual pay above 400,000 euros, which is his base salary.
Maccabi’s offer is not a new one, but one that was presented to the captain some time ago. The club sees the structure of the deal as a sign that it wants to keep him. Peretz has also had offers from Dinamo Zagreb, Ferencvaros and Omonia Nicosia, as well as one from the Far East, but he turned that option down.
