Maccabi Tel Aviv locks in Dor Peretz through 2029, with a path to 2031
Maccabi Tel Aviv announced on Thursday that Dor Peretz has signed through 2029, with the club holding two additional one-year options that could keep him until 2031. The extension is structured in two separate years, and the deal can automatically add a fourth season if Peretz plays in 60% of the team’s matches in 2028/29, with a similar 60% threshold for the fifth season based on 2029/30.
The conditions are not seen as especially difficult to meet, since the midfielder played in 90% of Maccabi Tel Aviv’s matches last season. By the time the first option is evaluated, Peretz will already be 34, but the club believes its key player could remain with the side until age 36.
The agreement also reflects a strong show of confidence in Peretz, who received a lucrative contract. Next season he is set to earn 525,000 euros net as a base salary, and in the following seasons he will earn 500,000 euros net, before bonuses.
Those additional payments include incentives tied to points, appearances, and team achievements. If all of the options are activated, Peretz could stay at Maccabi Tel Aviv until 2031.
