Slain Israeli Father of Six Buried in West Bank Settlement

Natanel Shokron, who was killed in a shooting attack at the Ein Ri'a spring near the settlement of Neve Tzuf in the Benjamin region, was laid to rest on Tuesday evening in the cemetery of his community, Ali Zahav.

The funeral procession began at 10:30 PM from the community's garden square, heading to the cemetery. Shokron is survived by his wife, Merav, and their six children. His eldest son, an 11th-grade student, was with him in the vehicle during the attack but was unharmed. The youngest child is four years old.

An investigation into the deadly attack revealed that the perpetrator, Qadri Samara, a 37-year-old Hamas operative, had been in the area for a full day prior to the shooting. Investigators believe Samara exploited the fact that many people visit the spring near Neve Tzuf for immersion on the eve of Yom Kippur.

Samara arrived at the scene by car and opened fire on Shokron's vehicle. During the attack, a tracker from the Benjamin Brigade, traveling in an armored vehicle, was in the vicinity. The tracker returned fire, wounding Samara and preventing him from continuing the attack, thereby saving Shokron's son who was in the car.
