Father of Six Killed in Terror Attack Near Halamish
Natanel Shachron, a resident of the Samarian settlement of Alei Zahav and a father of six, was killed in a Palestinian terrorist attack near Halamish on Sunday. Shachron had gone to the Ein Raya spring with his eldest son, who was unharmed, for ritual immersion ahead of Yom Kippur. The couple's youngest child is four years old. Shachron worked in the high-tech industry.
The terrorist, armed with an assault rifle, opened fire on individuals bathing at the spring. Shachron sustained fatal wounds and was transported by ambulance to Beilinson Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. A tracker from the regional division spotted the assailant shortly after the attack and wounded him. The terrorist sought refuge in a local hospital, but Israeli security forces, acting on intelligence about a suspicious patient, apprehended him there after a brief search.
Shachron's wife, Meirav, is left to care for their six children.
