Israeli Man Murdered in West Bank Shooting Attack Laid to Rest

Natanel Shkaron, who was killed in a shooting attack in the Benjamin region on Sunday, was buried on Monday evening at the cemetery in the settlement of Eli Zahav. Shkaron, a father of six and a high-tech worker, had gone to a spring with his eldest son to immerse himself in preparation for Yom Kippur.

The attack occurred hours before the start of the Yom Kippur fast. The assailant opened fire on Shkaron's vehicle, which he was traveling in with his son, who was unharmed. An Israel Defense Forces soldier at the scene returned fire, and the terrorist fled on foot.

IDF forces apprehended the suspect approximately three hours later in Ramallah. The terrorist had apparently transported himself to a hospital there after sustaining injuries during the attack. Shkaron is survived by his wife, Merav, and their six children, the eldest in 11th grade and the youngest aged four. He worked as an information systems analyst at "Hashara Insurance Company," and his wife, Dr. Merav Shkaron, is a lecturer at Ariel University.

The community of Eli Zahav issued a statement mourning Shkaron, describing him as a beloved, kind, humble, and devoted husband and father. The Shkaron family is described as long-standing and integral to the community, which pledged its support to Merav and the children.
