Grieving Community Mourns Father of Six Killed in West Bank Terror Attack
Natanel Shkaron, a 40-year-old father of six and a software analyst, was laid to rest late Monday night in the Ali Zahav cemetery, hours after being killed in a shooting attack near the settlement of Neve Tzuf. Shkaron was with his 16-year-old son at the Ein Ra'aya spring, preparing to immerse for Yom Kippur, when a terrorist in a passing vehicle opened fire on those present.
Shkaron sustained critical injuries and was transported to Beilinson Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His wife, Dr. Meirav Shkaron, is a lecturer at Ariel University. The couple's children range in age from 4 to 16.
Residents of Ali Zahav described Shkaron as a "man of kindness, humble, modest, and beloved," and a devoted husband and father. The Shkaron family is described as a long-standing and integral part of the Ali Zahav community.
The terrorist, identified as a 37-year-old Hamas operative from the Bir Zeit area, fled the scene on foot. He had reportedly scouted the location the day before the attack. After an hours-long manhunt, he was located wounded in a hospital in Ramallah, where he was apprehended by Duvdevan unit soldiers.
