Teen Dies After Being Hit by Car, Shot at Shopping Center in Hadera
A 17-year-old boy was killed overnight Thursday-Friday after being struck by a vehicle at the Village shopping complex in Hadera, Israel. Police reported that shots were also fired at the scene, and the incident, including both the shooting and the car ramming, is being investigated as a criminal act, with police suspecting murder. The driver of the vehicle sustained minor injuries from the gunfire and was subsequently arrested.
According to an initial police investigation, the incident began with a confrontation between parties, during which the 17-year-old was run over, followed by shots being fired. The victim was critically injured and later pronounced dead. The driver was treated for light injuries from the shooting.
Large police forces from the Hadera station arrived at the scene, collected evidence, and launched an investigation into the circumstances. Following an assessment, the investigation was assigned to the Menashe District Crime Unit.
Magen David Adom (MDA) emergency medical services received the initial report at 1:40 AM. Paramedics arriving at the scene found the victim unconscious, with no pulse or breathing, suffering from severe head trauma after being hit by a car in the shopping center's parking lot. They initiated advanced resuscitation efforts and transported him to the hospital in critical condition, where his death was later confirmed.
