Teen Dies After Being Run Over, Shot in Hadera Shopping Center Brawl
A 17-year-old boy was killed and a driver lightly injured in a violent incident early Friday morning at the "Village" shopping complex in Hadera. Police are investigating the incident, which they believe stemmed from a criminal dispute, and have stated there is no indication of a terror attack.
Initial findings suggest the altercation began with a fight between several individuals at the complex. During the confrontation, the teenager was struck and run over by a vehicle. Shortly thereafter, shots were fired at the scene, resulting in the driver of the vehicle sustaining minor injuries. Emergency medical services provided initial treatment to the teen, who was initially in critical condition, but he was later pronounced dead.
The injured driver was treated for his wounds and transported to a local hospital. A large police force from the Hadera station responded to the scene, securing the area, collecting evidence, and gathering witness testimonies to reconstruct the events. Security camera footage is also being reviewed.
Following an assessment, the investigation has been transferred to the Central Unit of the Menashe region. Police emphasized that the primary line of inquiry is criminal, with no evidence pointing to a nationalistic motive. The investigation is ongoing, with authorities working to gather further evidence, identify additional suspects, and clarify the full sequence of events leading to the teen's death and the driver's injury.
