Teenager Killed in Hit-and-Run, Driver Injured by Gunfire in Hadera
A 17-year-old boy was fatally struck by a vehicle and killed in the Village shopping complex in Hadera early Friday morning. The driver of the car, who was injured by gunfire during the incident, has been arrested, according to Israeli police. The confrontation began with an altercation between parties, leading to the teenager being hit by the car. Subsequently, shots were fired at the scene. The victim was critically injured and later pronounced dead. The driver sustained minor injuries from the shooting and was taken for medical treatment.
Emergency medical services received the initial report at 1:40 AM. Paramedics arriving at the scene found the victim unconscious, without a pulse or breathing, suffering from a severe head injury. Advanced resuscitation efforts were performed before he was transported to Hillel Yaffe Medical Center in critical condition, where his death was later confirmed. Other first responders also provided initial aid and performed life-saving resuscitation on the young man.
Large police forces from the Hadera station responded, collected evidence, and launched an investigation. The investigation has been assigned to the Menashe District Crime Unit. Police emphasized that the incident is suspected to be criminal in nature and not related to terrorism.
