Salmonella Scare Prompts Immediate Recall of Moroccan Carrot Salad
Falafel Ba'Ribuah Food Industries Ltd. announced an immediate recall of its Class Food brand Moroccan Carrot Salad on Thursday due to the detection of Salmonella bacteria. The product was identified as contaminated during a test conducted by the Food Service.
The affected product is the Moroccan Carrot Salad, manufactured by Falafel Ba'Ribuah Food Industries Ltd. and marketed by A. Class Food Ltd., under the Class Food brand. It comes in 250-gram containers with production dates of September 7, 2026, and expiration dates of October 12, 2026. The barcodes for the recalled items are 7290016276756 and 7290019297420.
The company urged consumers who possess the product not to consume it. Salmonella infection in healthy individuals can cause fever, diarrhea (sometimes bloody), nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain. While rare, complications can arise. In vulnerable populations, including young children, the immunocompromised, and the elderly, the bacteria can lead to severe illness and, in some instances, death.
