Salmonella Found in Popular Carrot Salad Prompts Immediate Recall
Falafel Ba'ribua Food Industries Ltd. announced an immediate recall of its Class Food brand Moroccan Carrot Salad on Thursday due to the presence of Salmonella bacteria. The contamination was discovered during an inspection by the Food Service.
The affected product is the 250-gram Moroccan Carrot Salad, manufactured by Falafel Ba'ribua and marketed by A. Class Food Ltd. The production date is September 7, 2026, with an expiration date of October 12, 2026. Barcodes for the product are 7290016276756 and 7290019297420.
The company stated, "Consumers who are in possession of the product are asked not to consume it." In healthy individuals, Salmonella infection can cause fever, diarrhea (sometimes bloody), nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain. While rare, complications can occur.
For vulnerable populations, including young children, the immunocompromised, and the elderly, the bacteria can lead to severe illness and, in some cases, death. Consumers are urged to discard the product or return it.
