Salmonella Scare Prompts Recall of "Class Food" Moroccan Carrot Salad
Falafel B'Ribua Food Industries Ltd. has announced a recall of its "Class Food" brand Moroccan carrot salad due to the presence of Salmonella bacteria. The recall was initiated after the Central District branch of the Ministry of Health's Food Service discovered the contamination during routine testing.
Consumers are urged not to eat the affected product, specifically 250-gram packages marked with barcode 7290100890639. These packages have a production date of September 7, 2026, and an expiration date of October 12, 2026.
The distributor, A. Class Food Ltd., is working with the Ministry of Health to remove the product from store shelves. Salmonella infection can cause fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain in healthy individuals. However, it poses a significant risk to vulnerable populations, including young children, the elderly, and those with weakened immune systems, potentially leading to severe illness or death.
