Health Ministry Warns of Salmonella in Class Food Moroccan Carrot Salad

Israel's Ministry of Health has issued a warning and called for the recall of "Class Food" brand Moroccan Carrot Salad after the discovery of Salmonella bacteria in the product. The Food Services Department of the Health Bureau for the Central District found the bacteria during a routine inspection.

The affected product is identified as Moroccan Carrot Salad, manufactured by Falafel Prepouach Food Industries Ltd., under the brand name Class Food and marketed by A. Class Food Ltd. It comes in 250-gram packages with an expiration date of October 12, 2026, and a production date of September 7, 2026. The barcode is 7290100890639.

Consumers who possess this product are urged not to consume it. In coordination with the Ministry of Health's Food Services Department, Class Food is actively working to remove the product from all sales channels. The company has issued an apology for the lapse and stated its commitment to ensuring product quality and taste for its customers.

Salmonella infection typically causes symptoms such as fever, diarrhea (sometimes bloody), nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain in healthy individuals. While rare, complications can occur. However, the bacteria can cause severe illness, and in some cases, death, among vulnerable populations, including young children, the elderly, and individuals with weakened immune systems.
