Israel Railways Announces Sukkot Holiday Service Adjustments
Israel Railways has announced significant schedule changes for the upcoming Sukkot holiday, aiming to optimize train services for increased passenger traffic. Special timetables will be in effect throughout the festival, with additional trains scheduled for the eve and conclusion of the holiday, as well as during the intermediate days (Chol HaMoed).
During the eve of Sukkot (Friday, September 25, 2026) and the eve of the second holiday (Friday, October 2, 2026), trains will operate on a Friday/Saturday night schedule. Specifically, the Haifa-Tel Aviv line will see increased frequency, with two trains per hour instead of the usual one. The Hadera East-Rosh HaAyin North line will maintain a frequency of one train per hour in each direction.
From Sunday, September 27, to Thursday, October 1, 2026, and on the day after the holiday (Sunday, October 4, 2026), some regular train routes will be extended. Train 8030 will now begin its journey at Be'er Sheva Center at 9:41 AM and conclude at Haifa Center HaShmona, instead of terminating at Tel Aviv Savidor Center. Similarly, train 8037 will commence its route at 2:02 PM from Haifa Center HaShmona (instead of Tel Aviv Savidor Center) and end its journey in Be'er Sheva Center.
Additionally, night train services between Jerusalem Yitzhak Navon and Herzliya will operate on all nights of the week throughout the holiday period.
