Israel Railways Adjusts Schedules for Yom Kippur Holiday
Israel Railways is implementing significant schedule changes in preparation for the Yom Kippur holiday, a period of national closure in Israel. On Sunday, September 20th, the eve of Yom Kippur, an adjusted schedule will be in effect to facilitate optimal train movement. This includes adding trains and increasing service on several key lines. Passenger trains will operate until 1:00 PM on Sunday, based on Friday schedules, with a particularly high frequency on the Haifa-Tel Aviv line, running two trains per hour instead of the usual one.
Additionally, a new service will operate on the Hadera East-Rosh Ha'ayin North line. These adjustments are intended to accommodate increased public transportation use on the holiday eve, leading up to the cessation of services.
No trains will operate on Monday, September 21st, the day of Yom Kippur, consistent with the annual practice. Train services will resume on Tuesday, September 22nd, including overnight trains between Monday and Tuesday.
