IDF Discovers Hezbollah Rocket Launchers and Tunnel Shaft in Southern Lebanon
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced on Friday that its forces operating in southern Lebanon discovered a Hezbollah operational post containing a tunnel shaft and 32 ready-to-fire rockets. The discovery was made by troops from the 55th Brigade Combat Team, under the command of Division 91, during sweeps in the security zone prior to the implementation of a ceasefire agreement.
The rockets were aimed at Israeli territory and were found alongside the launch positions. The IDF stated that its forces destroyed the tunnel shaft and the rockets. The military also reiterated its commitment to preventing Hezbollah from harming Israeli civilians and its forces, and to continuing operations to neutralize threats while adhering to the ceasefire agreement.
The operation is part of ongoing efforts by the IDF to remove threats to Israel from its northern border. The IDF released footage documenting the discovery and destruction of the Hezbollah infrastructure.
