The IDF said on Sunday that it exposed a major underground terror route in the southern Lebanese village of Majdal Zun, about 10 kilometers from the Israeli border. The operation is being carried out by the 551st Brigade combat team under the 91st Division.
According to the military, the site included a tunnel more than 200 meters long and over 25 meters deep. Inside it, troops found four launch shafts aimed at Israel and 12 rooms, including living quarters and storage spaces.
The rooms were used to store explosive devices, anti-tank missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles, the IDF said. The army said the find revealed a broad terror infrastructure in the village.
During the operation, more than 20 Hezbollah fighters were killed, including more than 10 members of the Radwan Force unit. The IDF also destroyed more than 50 terror-related sites, including observation posts and weapons depots, and said the findings show Majdal Zun had been used as a fortified Hezbollah stronghold.
