After a day marked by repeated incidents, a senior officer said Saturday evening that Israel’s political leadership had ordered the IDF to hold its fire beyond the “yellow line” in Lebanon. Despite that directive, Division 36 forces are continuing intense fighting at the underground headquarters of Hezbollah’s Badr Unit, where an estimated 30 militants are believed to be trapped.
According to the officer, the trapped fighters are “crying out for help.” Security officials said the fighting at this strategic site will not stop, even with the political instruction to pause fire outside the designated line.
The IDF stressed that it has no objective of conquering Lebanon. Officials said the operation is being carried out in line with the political echelon’s directive to remove threats to northern Israeli communities.
The same senior officer also said the army remains on high alert over reports of possible Iranian threats, but there has been no change so far in the home front instructions.
