IDF Thwarts Hezbollah Supply Attempts to Trapped Militants in Southern Lebanon Tunnel Complex

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) recently prevented multiple Hezbollah attempts to deliver supplies to approximately 30 to 40 militants trapped in a strategic underground tunnel complex on the Ali Taher ridge in southern Lebanon. This facility, funded by Iran, serves as a key command center for Hezbollah's southern operations and is considered a symbolic stronghold by the group. Due to its strategic importance, the IDF has resolved to maintain control over the area until the complex is completely destroyed, with ongoing Israeli presence supported by the United States.

Concurrently, the IDF is preparing to hand over control of a pilot area to the Lebanese Army, including the village of Zotar al-Arabiya near the Saluki stream, which was captured during operations to seize the Bofor ridge. Another village, Farran Randouria, north of the Blue Line, is also part of this pilot and is currently unoccupied by Israeli forces, allowing immediate Lebanese Army access. The security establishment expects over a week before a formal decision is made to initiate this transfer in coordination with Lebanon's military.

Israel, the US, and the Lebanese Army are collaborating to establish a coordination mechanism to facilitate this pilot. Meanwhile, Israeli forces continue clearing operations along the Blue Line, recently neutralizing a militant who approached their position. The Israeli presence along the border remains firm, backed by American support, with the aim of securing a deal to disarm Hezbollah south of the Litani River and restore security to northern Israel. However, the tense situation increases the risk of further escalation, including intensified rocket fire from Hezbollah or Iranian intervention.
