The IDF said on Sunday that troops discovered a significant underground Hezbollah site in Majdal Zun, in southern Lebanon, about 10 kilometers from the border. The find came during an operation by the 551st Brigade Combat Team under the 91st Division in the fortified village, where the army said it found signs of extensive terror infrastructure in the area.
According to the army, Yahalom engineers located a tunnel more than 200 meters long and over 25 meters deep. Inside were four launch shafts aimed at Israel, 12 rooms used for staying and storing weapons, and hundreds of weapons items. Among the materials found were explosive devices, anti-tank missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles.
During the wider operation in Majdal Zun, Israeli forces killed more than 20 Hezbollah operatives, including more than 10 from the elite Radwan Force. The army also said it destroyed more than 50 terror facilities, including observation posts and weapons depots, which it said had posed a threat to northern Israeli communities.
