The IDF says troops from Brigade 551 operating deep inside Lebanon uncovered a major underground Hezbollah route in the village of Majdal Zun, about 10 kilometers from the Israeli border, during an operation led by Division 91. The military said the site reflects the scale of Hezbollah’s terror infrastructure in the area.
According to the IDF, the tunnel was more than 200 meters long and over 25 meters deep. Inside, forces found four launch shafts and 12 rooms used for operational purposes, including living quarters, weapons storage, and rooms holding explosives, anti-tank missiles, and unmanned aerial vehicles.
The army said hundreds of weapons intended for use by Hezbollah operatives were discovered in the tunnel. It also reported that during the operation more than 20 Hezbollah fighters were killed, including over 10 from the elite Radwan Force, and more than 50 terror sites were destroyed, among them surveillance positions and weapons depots.
The IDF said Majdal Zun had been fortified and packed with terror infrastructure embedded in the civilian area. The troops were operating to locate and destroy those assets as part of an effort to remove threats to communities in northern Israel.
