IDF Discovers Hezbollah Underground Rocket Site in Southern Lebanon

An Israeli military combat team operating in southern Lebanon has uncovered a significant Hezbollah weapons cache, including an underground shaft and rocket launchers. The discovery was made by soldiers from the 55th Brigade Combat Team, under the command of Division 91, during routine security sweeps in the area.

Inside the Hezbollah observation post, troops found an underground tunnel containing ready-to-fire rocket launchers loaded with 32 rockets aimed at Israeli territory. Initial investigations suggest these weapons were placed before the current ceasefire agreement took effect. The IDF subsequently destroyed the observation post, the tunnel, and the weaponry.

The IDF stated that it will not permit Hezbollah to harm Israeli civilians or security forces and will continue to act decisively to neutralize threats while adhering to the ceasefire agreement. The operation underscores ongoing tensions and concerns about escalation in the region, prompting updates to residents in northern Israel.
