Elite Israeli Forces Arrest Senior Fatah Terror Operative in Tulkarm

Israeli special forces from the Duvdevan unit conducted a targeted operation in Tulkarm on Monday, arresting a senior operative within the Fatah terror organization. According to intelligence, the individual was involved in advancing terror activities, planning and executing attacks, and arms trafficking.

The arrest is part of a broader wave of counter-terrorism operations in the West Bank. In recent weeks, Israeli forces have dismantled a Hamas cell of ten operatives in the northern West Bank, seizing a rocket and explosives. Additionally, a cell in Jenin suspected of planning an imminent attack was apprehended.

Earlier in the week, forces in the northern West Bank captured a Hamas cell of ten operatives, confiscating an M16 rifle, materials for bomb-making, and a rocket. This operation followed months of intelligence gathering by the Shin Bet and was executed after operational conditions matured.

In a separate incident, three operatives suspected of planning an immediate, severe attack in the northern West Bank were arrested by the Yamam counter-terrorism unit in Jenin. Intelligence suggested these operatives were part of a trained cell, and investigations are examining the possibility that they intended to assassinate Defense Minister Israel Katz during a ceremony in the Ganim settlement, or to carry out a massacre there.
