Israeli Special Forces Arrest Wounded Terrorists in Broad Daylight Operation in Nablus

Israeli security forces, including the elite Duvdevan unit and Shin Bet, conducted a rapid and coordinated operation in the heart of Nablus on the West Bank following a deadly terror attack earlier that day. Two terrorists involved in the morning attack near Gilad Farm, which killed two Israeli officers, were located wounded and transferred to a hospital in Nablus. The Duvdevan unit, led by Colonel D. who recently assumed command, was swiftly mobilized under the direction of Brigadier General Kobi Heller, commander of the Judea and Samaria Division, to prevent the terrorists from escaping after receiving medical treatment.

The operation involved a surprise entry into the hospital compound, securing the area, and a quick and smooth extraction of the suspects without casualties. The terrorists were handed over to Shin Bet for interrogation. The attack earlier claimed the lives of Lieutenant Colonel Yuval Ezra, 27, from Herzliya, commander of an artillery battery, and retired Sergeant Major Benyahu Malat, 32, from Yitzhar, a combat commander in the Jerusalem Brigade.

Following the incident, the IDF launched extensive security measures across the West Bank, focusing on the Samaria region, including arrests based on intelligence to prevent further escalation. Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir, who visited the attack site and expressed condolences to the victims' families, emphasized the commitment to counterterrorism and protecting Israeli civilians. Senior commanders, including Central Command Chief Major General Avi Blot and others, participated in the situation assessment and ongoing operational planning.

Brigadier General Heller reported the completion of encirclement operations around Palestinian cities, road closures including Jericho, and the establishment of checkpoints. Further decisions on deploying additional forces will be based on intelligence updates to prevent copycat attacks and escalation. The IDF expects a challenging period ahead in the West Bank amid heightened tensions.
