Israel Braces for Continued Heatwave Before Slight Weekend Cool-Down
Israel is set to experience another week of unseasonably warm weather, with temperatures along the coast remaining above 30 degrees Celsius. A slight cooling trend is anticipated towards the weekend, and meteorologists are forecasting potential rain in the northern and central regions on Friday, though long-range forecasts are noted for their potential inaccuracies.
Coastal areas, including cities like Nahariya, Haifa, Tel Aviv, Ashdod, and Gaza, will see daytime temperatures around 31 degrees Celsius throughout the work week (Sunday to Thursday), dropping to 30 degrees on Friday and Saturday. Overnight lows on the coast will be approximately 25 degrees.
Jerusalem and its surrounding Judean Hills will experience highs of 31-32 degrees during the week, with a decrease to 28 degrees by Friday and Saturday. Overnight temperatures in the capital will range from 18-20 degrees.
Samaria will also see highs of 31-32 degrees during the week, falling to 28 degrees on Friday before rising to 20 degrees on Saturday. Overnight lows in this region will be between 20-21 degrees.
Temperatures around the Sea of Galilee (Kinneret) will be high, ranging from 37-38 degrees from Sunday to Thursday, dropping to 34 on Thursday, 32 on Friday, and back up to 34 on Saturday. Overnight lows will be around 23 degrees.
The Golan Heights will experience daytime temperatures of 35-36 degrees during the week, with a drop to 31 on Friday and 32 on Saturday. Overnight lows will be approximately 21 degrees.
Northern Galilee, including the Hula Valley and Kiryat Shmona, will have highs of 36 degrees from Sunday to Thursday, falling to 34 on Thursday, 32 on Friday, and 33 on Saturday. Overnight lows will be around 22 degrees.
In the northern Negev, including Beersheba, daytime temperatures will be between 34-35 degrees during the week, decreasing to 31 on Friday and 32 on Saturday. Overnight lows will be 21-22 degrees.
Southern Israel's resort city of Eilat and its surrounding area will face the most intense heat, with highs of 39-40 degrees from Sunday to Thursday, dropping to 38 on Friday and 37 on Saturday. Overnight temperatures in Eilat will be between 28-29 degrees.
