Israel Braces for Heatwave Peak in Coming Days

Israel is set to experience a significant rise in temperatures, with forecasters predicting the peak of a heatwave to arrive in the coming days. Starting Saturday, temperatures will gradually climb, exceeding seasonal averages, particularly in the mountainous and inland regions. While some areas may see morning clouds, the skies are expected to clear throughout the day, with variable cloudiness returning at night. Maximum temperatures on Saturday are forecast to reach 38 degrees Celsius in Eilat, 37 in Beit She'an, 35 in Katzrin and Tiberias, 34 in Afula, and 33 in Be'er Sheva and Nazareth. Jerusalem will see a range of 17 to 30 degrees, Tel Aviv 24 to 31, Haifa 24 to 30, Ashdod 24 to 31, Safed 19 to 32, and Lod 24 to 31.

Sunday is expected to bring further temperature increases, with the most intense heat anticipated in the afternoon. Forecasters are warning of heightened heat stress, especially in inland and mountainous areas, where temperatures will continue to be notably higher than mid-September norms. This warming trend will persist into Monday with a slight additional rise, marking a hotter start to the week compared to the preceding Saturday.

By Tuesday, temperatures are expected to stabilize but will remain slightly above the seasonal average. The southern regions, including Eilat and the Dead Sea area, will remain the hottest. Along the Mediterranean coast, while maximum temperatures might be lower, high humidity could make the heat feel more intense than the actual readings.
