IDF Eliminates Hamas Sniper Unit Leader in Khan Younis

The Israeli military (IDF) announced Thursday that it had eliminated Moamen Gaber Al-Sayed Abu Labada, the commander of Hamas's sniper unit in the Rafah Brigade, in an airstrike in Khan Younis. Intelligence indicated that Abu Labada had been training snipers in Gaza with the aim of carrying out attacks against Israeli civilians and IDF forces operating near the Gaza border. He was reportedly working to rebuild Hamas's military capabilities, violating the ceasefire agreement.

The strike on Abu Labada follows the recent elimination of Mohammed Yazouri, the commander of Hamas's Khan Younis Brigade, along with other senior operatives. Yazouri had previously held various senior positions within the brigade, including deputy commander and head of intelligence. He was reportedly involved in advancing numerous terror plots and restoring the brigade's operational strength after sustaining significant damage.

During the operation that killed Yazouri, other high-ranking Hamas members, including platoon commander Hudhaifa Ammar and operative Mohammed Bahjat Rachi, were also killed. The IDF stated that its forces in the southern Gaza Strip will continue to operate decisively against any threats to national security and to neutralize immediate dangers.
