Alexis Serna Signs Three-Year Deal With Beitar Jerusalem FC
Beitar Jerusalem FC, the Israeli Premier League club, has officially announced the signing of Colombian midfielder Alexis Serna to a three-year contract. The 28-year-old joins from Independiente Medellín for a reported transfer fee of €600,000, marking his first move outside of Colombia. Serna, who stands at 1.70 meters, is described as an intense midfielder capable of joining attacks from the second line and playing multiple forward midfield positions.
Serna's arrival strengthens Beitar Jerusalem's midfield options. He joins fellow foreign players Nana Antwi, Bryan Carvallo, Luka Gadrani, Boris Enow, Eugene Ansah, and Jon Bosko Kalu. Serna's transfer is the second signing under head coach Almog Cohen and the first player acquired from outside the Israeli Premier League during Cohen's tenure.
In his previous season with Independiente Medellín, Serna scored three goals and provided two assists. His move to Israel mirrors that of teammate Bryan Carvallo, who also arrived from the Colombian league.
