Alexis Serna Signs Two-Year Deal with Beitar Jerusalem

Colombian midfielder Alexis Serna, 28, has officially signed a two-year contract with Beitar Jerusalem, with an option for an additional season. Serna arrived in Israel on Friday, underwent medical tests, and completed the signing. Beitar Jerusalem acquired Serna from Independiente Medellín for $500,000 plus bonuses. He will be registered as the team's eighth foreign player, completing the squad.

Serna has not played since June due to injury but has been training fully for the past month. The professional staff hopes he can debut next Saturday against Hapoel Haifa, though he will first have a few days to acclimate and his condition will be assessed. The club's official website described Serna as a "significant reinforcement" to the squad, noting he was a primary target for the club and its coaching staff. They highlighted his experience, power, and midfield qualities, stating he joins Beitar at a significant point in his career with the aim of becoming a central figure and contributing to the club's aspirations.

Separately, it will be determined by Saturday night or Sunday whether Nana Antwi will participate in Tuesday's match against Maccabi Petah Tikva. The right-back expressed optimism about being included in the squad. Jordan Cohen, recovering from a meniscus injury, is not expected back until after the international break.
