Israel Recalls 7Days Snacks Over Undeclared Fava Bean Allergen
Israel's Ministry of Health, in cooperation with the importer Diplomat Mefitsim, has announced a recall of 7Days Bake Rolls snacks due to the presence of an undeclared allergen. Following consumer complaints, fava bean flour was discovered in the product, which was not listed on the packaging.
Fava beans can trigger favism, a condition characterized by acute hemolysis or red blood cell destruction, in individuals with a glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD) deficiency. The Ministry advises people sensitive to legumes to avoid consuming these specific snacks, while assuring other consumers that the products are safe for general consumption.
The recall affects 80g packages of 7Days Bake Rolls with salt (barcode 5201360639007) with expiration dates ranging from November 4, 2026, to April 28, 2027. Also included are 80g packages of 7Days Bake Rolls with garlic flavor (barcode 7622202049927) with expiration dates from October 5, 2026, to October 15, 2027.
The snacks are manufactured by Mondelez Romania Snacks Production S.R.L. in Romania. Diplomat Mefitsim, the importer, is removing the affected products from retail shelves in agreement with the Ministry of Health.
