Israeli Airlines Vie for New York Route, Prices Vary Widely
Israir Airlines has announced the launch of ticket sales for its new route to New York, with the inaugural flight scheduled for September 15. In response to this new competition, a price comparison was conducted between Israir, El Al, and Arkia on various dates.
The analysis revealed significant price fluctuations depending on the travel dates. For a round trip between November 16 and 22, Israir offers a ticket for $2,496. While this is considerably cheaper than El Al's premium fare of $3,346, it is still $603 more expensive than Arkia's price of $3,099 for the same period.
However, for travel between November 15 and 22, Israir's price of $1,452 is not the lowest. Arkia offers the same dates for $1,348, and El Al for $1,440.
In December, Israir's starting fares are around $700, comparable to El Al's initial prices. The findings suggest that Israir does not consistently offer the cheapest fares to New York. Nevertheless, its entry into the market intensifies competition, potentially leading to significant savings for travelers on certain dates.
