The IDF said it struck central Gaza on Monday and killed Ahmed Abu Hien, who it identified as the head of a Hamas sniper cell, and Mahmoud Walid Gabr Abu Hien, a member of the group’s military wing. The military said both men took part in the October 7 massacre in Israel.
According to the IDF, the two had recently been working to rebuild Hamas in violation of the ceasefire agreement and to advance terror plots against IDF forces and Israel. The army said they posed an immediate threat to its troops.
The IDF said both men were killed in precise strikes. No further details were given on the operation or on casualties beyond the two targeted militants.
