IDF Kills Two Hamas Commanders in Gaza Linked to October 7 Attacks

The Israel Defense Forces confirmed on Thursday that its air force struck and killed two senior Hamas operatives in Gaza this week. Ahmad Al-Shaam Mahmoud Luh, head of a sniper unit in Hamas’s Nuseirat Battalion, was killed in a southern Gaza strike. Another strike in northern Gaza eliminated Mahmoud Ali Mahmoud Taroush, a Hamas military commander involved in the October 7 attack inside Israel.

The IDF stated that both militants had actively planned terror operations against Israeli forces and civilians throughout the ongoing conflict. These targeted airstrikes aimed to neutralize significant threats to Israeli security. Earlier, the IDF also announced the killing of Anas Mahmoud Ahmad Hamdan, a Hamas company commander in Khan Yunis responsible for holding hostages and propaganda efforts, as well as Hossam Shaafi, a militant involved in the October 7 massacre at Kibbutz Nirim, where several Israeli soldiers were killed and kidnapped.

These operations were enabled by precise intelligence and fire coordination from the Gaza Division. Meanwhile, regional sources told Channel 13 that advanced talks are underway for Hamas to disarm and hand over Gaza’s administration to an international stabilization force, with a signing ceremony potentially taking place soon in Egypt.

Last week, the IDF exposed several Palestinian football players, referees, and coaches who were publicly portrayed as civilians but were actually militants in Hamas and Islamic Jihad’s military wings. This disclosure aimed to counter false claims that the IDF deliberately targeted innocent Palestinian athletes during the war.
