The IDF said on Wednesday that it killed two militants in separate strikes in the Gaza Strip over the weekend. One of them was Muhammad Said Ahmed Nimroti, a Hamas platoon commander in southern Gaza who took part in the October 7 massacre inside Israel.
According to the army, Nimroti was also involved throughout the war in holding many hostages in Hamas tunnel captivity. In a separate strike in central Gaza, the IDF killed Muawiya Suleiman Saqr Aidi, a platoon commander in the central camps of Palestinian Islamic Jihad. Aidi also took part in the October 7 attack on Kibbutz Be’eri.
The military said both men had been advancing terror plans against IDF troops and Israeli civilians during the war and in recent weeks, and said Aidi was involved in planting explosive devices. The IDF said the strikes were precise and were carried out after the two posed an immediate threat to forces operating in Gaza.
The Southern Command said its troops remain deployed in the area in line with the agreement and will continue acting to remove any immediate threat.
