The IDF said it carried out strikes in Gaza over the weekend, including one in southern Gaza on Saturday, killing Muhammad Saeed Ahmed Nimroti, a Hamas platoon commander who took part in the October 7 attack on Israel. According to the military, Nimroti was also involved throughout the war in holding many hostages in Hamas tunnel captivity.

In a separate strike in central Gaza, the IDF killed Muawiya Suleiman Sakr Aidi, a platoon commander in the central camps of Palestinian Islamic Jihad. The army said Aidi also took part in the October 7 assault on Kibbutz Be’eri.

The IDF said both men had continued, during the war and more recently, to advance terror plots against Israeli troops and civilians. It added that Aidi was involved in planting explosive devices.

The military said the two were killed in precise strikes after posing an immediate threat to IDF forces operating in the Gaza Strip.
