Fuel Prices Drop Following New Excise Tax Implementation
A new pricing structure for regulated fuel products took effect at midnight Sunday-Monday, following an update to the excise tax on gasoline. The maximum price for a liter of lead-free 95-octane gasoline at self-service stations has been reduced to 7.75 shekels, including value-added tax, a decrease of 50 agorot from the previous price. The cost for full-service remains unchanged at an additional 26 agorot per liter, including VAT.
In the city of Eilat, the maximum price for a liter of gasoline at self-service stations has dropped to 6.57 shekels, excluding VAT, marking a reduction of 42 agorot. The full-service cost in Eilat also remains unchanged at 22 agorot per liter, excluding VAT.
The Ministry of Energy is encouraging consumers to compare prices across different gas stations to find the most favorable rates, noting that prices can vary between stations.
