Fuel Prices Drop in Israel Following Tax Update
New, lower prices for regulated fuel products went into effect at midnight Sunday-Monday in Israel, following an update to the "Blue Tax" imposed on gasoline. The maximum price for a liter of lead-free 95-octane gasoline at self-service stations has been reduced to 7.75 shekels per liter, including VAT, a decrease of 50 agorot from the previous price. The cost for full-service remains unchanged at an additional 26 agorot per liter, including VAT.
In the resort city of Eilat, the maximum price for a liter of gasoline at self-service stations, excluding VAT, dropped to 6.57 shekels, a reduction of 42 agorot. The full-service cost in Eilat remains at 22 agorot per liter, excluding VAT.
The Ministry of Energy encouraged consumers to compare prices across different fuel stations to find the most cost-effective option.
