Israeli Security Forces Kill Terrorist After West Bank Stabbing Attack

A 19-year-old Israeli man was seriously wounded in a stabbing attack Monday at the Ma'oz Yehuda farm near Shiloh in the West Bank. The victim, from Migdal HaEmek, was reportedly approached by the assailant, who spoke with him before stabbing him in the hand and fleeing. Magen David Adom paramedics provided initial treatment for stab wounds to the victim's hand, neck, and head. The injured man managed to return to the farm's residence, where the owner applied a tourniquet before rescue forces arrived. He was evacuated to Beilinson Hospital in Petah Tikva in moderate to severe condition.

Israeli Defense Forces located the fleeing suspect near his vehicle in the Palestinian village of Idna. The attacker reportedly attempted to stab the soldiers, leading to him being shot and killed by the company commander on the scene. Aviel Mamlia, an EMT, described finding the victim conscious with multiple stab wounds.

Defense Minister Israel Katz condemned the attack, wishing the victim a swift recovery and vowing that the IDF would pursue and capture terrorists. He reiterated the government's policy of vigorously combating Palestinian terrorism, strengthening Jewish settlement, and maintaining security stability in the West Bank, asserting that terrorism is at its lowest level in decades. Katz warned of a potential large-scale military operation against the Palestinian Authority and its associated bodies if they initiate terror attacks, citing the October 7th attacks as a precedent. He outlined a strategy involving eliminating senior figures, evacuating Palestinian villages from which attacks originate, destroying terror infrastructure, and maintaining an IDF presence in evacuated areas, drawing parallels to operations in Gaza, Lebanon, and Jenin.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also responded, stating that no terrorist has a hiding place and praising the soldiers who neutralized the attacker. He vowed to continue eliminating terrorists, pursuing their handlers, and destroying terror infrastructure in the West Bank, warning that anyone threatening Israel will pay a heavy price. The head of the Samaria Regional Council, Yossi Dagan, called for a broad military operation, house-to-house searches for weapons, and the dismantling of terror support networks. He emphasized that the settlement movement in Samaria and the Israeli people will not yield to terror and will continue to build and strengthen their presence in the region.
